Effective Communication
Taking Your Seat as an Effective Communicator
E-dialogue coaching between Deva Dora and a client around sitting in her seat of effective communication and social integration.
Hey DJP,
Just a quick hello…letting you all know that I’m thinking about you all. Also, expressing thanks for your guidance and encouragement to be me…an effective communicator. I’m on my way and letting the world know…I AM AN EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATOR…using appropriate words, tone, delivery and awareness of others feelings in the process.
I find myself saying things that previously I was concerned about how it would be received by others…NOW, I observe myself focusing a lot more on my need to communicate…respecting my need to speak up and out, saying what must be said so that others are made aware of what “we need” to do to create harmony.
Recently, I’ve told my manager how his lack of openness to learning from those under him is contributing to continuous mistakes–I said it with love, compassion and emphasized how as a team…we are to make each other strong where we are weak…I also pointed out his tendency to become defensive when we share our knowledge on something which he must make a decision but he does not have enough experience to make an informed decision. Since then he has been much more open to my suggestions and the defensiveness is fading away.
Today, I spoke with Geralda and offered suggestions for training so that we can all be on the same page and be ready when Wyeth merges with Pfizer. Knowing that she is the mouth-piece that Maureen listens to more than anyone else, I am proud of my desire to communicate solutions–without much concern for being the one to get credit. I know that with these improvements, the harmoney we all create will be the reward for everyone…and this will be reflected in the processes and the work we produce.
We were at an all day training yesterday. During the class yesterday, it was my job to satisfy the customers by making a star, on their packages. I convinced them to accept a 6 point start (easier to make & neater) than a 5 pointed start- harder to make. The training was about learning to communicate with everyone on the team to understand their role/function…so that everyone can work together as a whole instead of separately. We were successful…we evolved from a 16% success rate to 95% success rate.We had 30 minutes-to deliver 88 packages–correctly coded with a star on each package. At the end of the day, everyone was happy and the energy in the room was very loving & harmonious.
Anyway, that’s all for now. Its been pretty busy…and I’m still catching up on my basic work and the submission work.
Thanks for reading my journal.
Love & Light,
Rhonda
P.S. I’m making new friends on the bus route. We chat a little during the ride sometimes.
Deva Dora’s Reply
Greetings Rhonda,
Your contribution is an awesome commitment, which involves your listening, asking questions, and listening again; and soliciting others’ viewpoints without ‘making them wrong’ in order to bring about group harmony…truly being present and listening…a remarkable contribution to the whole by your group.
It’s about everyone winning with each part bringing its perspective to the table for enhancement. Our focus is God, being God and doing the business of God and doing it like God.
Adding your spice of being the salt of the earth, non-prejudice, listening, asking questions, truly considering another point of views, seeing many options and then moderating a win for all…WOW! What a mission that’s truly possible for your group.
Here’s what is present when your group pulls off it’s communication mission: we will hear bells ringing, see streets paved with gold, dancing in the streets and all singing hosanna praises to God. The lions and lambs will lie down side by side in peace. We become one, yet unique. Duality dissolves into oneness…wholeness. My oh my I am excited just thinking about heaven on Earth, which your group had a hand in integrating all the separate parts of the whole into ONE. I see the magic… incredible.
So stay in the ring and make a real effort to find and connect with your group for support…a team can get the job done in half the time…the more the merrier.
